PVA can be used in production of various protective film.
For example, adding a layer of polyvinyl alcohol protective film on the painted surface of TV and radio shells, and then transport it to the assembly plant to produce final productions. What can avoid damage of paint during handling and assembly. The protective film can be simply peeled off when it is not needed.
For example, the car tire protection film can prevent the white rubber ring on the side of the tire from being damaged during transportation and the dust adsorption caused by static electricity.
Another example is the protection of veneered plywood. In the past, in order to protect veneered plywood, the processing surface was packed with a thin paper, and another thin paper was sandwiched between the plywood when shipped out. Now, polyvinyl alcohol protective film is used instead of thin paper.
PVA protective film can not only prevent damage during transportation, but also prevent damage during subsequent construction and processing. Generally, as a protective film, there must be a moderate adhesion to the protective body, which can be easily removed when it is not needed.
PVA application on protective film, it has the following advantages:
① The polyvinyl alcohol film has proper adhesion to the metal surface and various plastic surfaces processed by the mirror surface.
② PVA aqueous solution has a strong film-forming property and the film is strong, so it has a great protective effect on the coating surface and is easy to peel when it is not needed. It can be easily washed off with water in the case of partial alcoholysis polyvinyl alcohol.
③ Oxygen, hydrogen sulfide and other corrosive gases have low permeability, so they have great corrosion protection effect on metal processing surface.
The method of use is adding 2~10% glycerol and some necessary anti-foaming agent into the aqueous solution of about 15% polyvinyl alcohol to prepare the coating liquid.
